Custodian

Position Description:

As a Custodian on the OCOM Facilities team, you'll have an important job in keeping the College clean, so that our Faculty, Staff, Students and Visitors can work/teach/learn in a happy and healthy environment.

This position plays a critical role, having a first impression impact for the College.

Requirements

Specific Responsibilities:

• Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including aligning with OSHA, state/local, federal, and all OCOM regulations.
• Maintains a clean and orderly environment to protect the safety and health of others.
• Accurately maintains and cleans custodial equipment as required.
• Cleans assigned scheduled areas to OCOM standards which could include, mopping, sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, and/or utilization of Custodial Equipment.
• Follows procedures for disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas.
• Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests to the Director of Facilities.
• Ensures security of OCOM assets and the facility.

Qualification(s):

• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and exposure to chemicals.
• Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor towards co-workers and members of the OCOM Community.
• Adaptable and Flexible to the needs of the OCOM community as they change.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be local to the Central Florida area.

Physical Demands:

• Including but not limited to; lifting, bending, pushing, pulling greater than 50 lbs and/or extended walking and standing. This role will have a uniform and will require the usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing these general duties.
