Job DescriptionJob Description

Summary:

Caracas Construction is seeking a Heavy/Highway Equipment Operator to run heavy construction equipment on its' roadway construction sites. The operator will run a variety of equipment through the course of a project, including, but not limited to: rubber tired excavators, track excavators, loaders, skidsteers, backhoes, rollers, and graders. Operators must be safety conscious, quick thinking, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Type of Work:

Trenching and backfilling for Water Pipes, Sewer Pipes, Drain Pipes. Excavation and grading for sidewalks, curbs, roadways.

Reports To:

Foreman and Site Superintendent

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment to achieve production goals.
  • Work in conjunction with laborers to accomplish tasks.
  • Able to understand and work within the boundaries of a roadway traffic setup.
  • Ensure equipment is kept clean and properly lubricated.
  • Excavating and grading roadway and sidewalks.
  • Trenching and backfilling for pipeline installation.
  • Handling, placing, and removing heavy objects such as concrete structures, trench boxes, and steel plates.
  • Ability to operate with various attachments, including hammers, rammers, and various buckets.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience running heavy equipment on construction sites
  • 2A Hoisting Engineer License
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • DOT Physical
  • US Work Authorization
  • US Valid Drivers License
