Our Assistant Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our properties, adhering to company standards, policies, and procedures, and collaborating closely with the Operations Manager and Director of Operations. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, a focus on policy compliance, and the ability to inspire positive change in support of company growth.


The primary responsibility for this position will initially involve managing a new storage facility, offering a hands-on opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the role. This experience is essential for potential progression to an Operations Manager role. Once the new facility is stabilized, the role will evolve into a hybrid Assistant Operations Manager position, combining remote work with 2-3 days of travel to the Virginia Beach main office each week.


Essential Duties Include:

  • Order needed office, marketing, and other miscellaneous supplies for properties and corporate office.
  • Receive all orders, pack up, and send out all items to the properties, which can include supply order delivery to any property office.
  • Run inventory reports and order new quantities of each item based on existing inventory.
  • Make inventory discrepancy adjustments as needed in company software and send reports to accounting.
  • Perform periodic site audits and follow up with pending action items.
  • Audit rentals and provide feedback to department manager.
  • Schedule and Prepare all Auction Paperwork.
  • Accurately add all eligible auction occupants to online auction website prior to sale date.
  • Support Contracting crew to confirm items are completed on the maintenance app.
  • Help suggest and roll out new software/policy and procedures for all brands as needed.
  • Periodic website checks for accuracy.
  • Physically assist with remotely managed facilities as needed.
  • Manage and process returned mail.
  • Assist customers with renting spaces, payments, and resolving issues.
  • Clean and maintain facility grounds and buildings.
  • Any other duty assigned to keep Operations running smoothly.

Role Requirements:

  • Operations or Store Management experience preferred.
  • Data management and report making abilities, to include use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid organization and time management with a strong attention to detail.
  • Associate degree or higher preferred; high school diploma required.
  • Travel to our local facilities is necessary, so reliable transportation is required.


Salary & Benefits:

  • Health, Vision, Dental benefits eligible after 60 days.
  • Paid Time Off eligible after 90 days.

  • Work/Life Balance – 40-hour work week with with no nights. Working Saturdays is a must until the facility has been stabilized.


Minimum Physical Qualifications:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for a combined 8 hours daily.
  • Hand-eye coordination for typing and other duties.
  • Stoop, bend, sweep, lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, employment verification, and background check.
