The successful candidate will possess a passion for horticulture, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong cannabis knowledge with a willingness to continually learn more about the subject.

Position Overview: 
We're looking for a detail-oriented Cannabis Trimming Supervisor to lead our trimming team in producing high-quality cannabis flower. As the Trimming Supervisor, you'll manage a team of trimmers, following all SOP, improve the trimming process as needed for bag appeal, complete production deadlines on time, and keep our product quality standards high. 
Responsibilities
  • Supervise the trimming processes from beginning to end to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance with quality standards. 
  • Lead and oversee a team of trimmers, offering training, direction, and assistance to ensure efficient and consistent trimming operations. 
  • Develop and execute trimming strategies to ensure efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align trimming processes with overall business goals. (i.e. Sales / Market Team focused on Bag Appeal) 
  • Create production schedules to coordinate trimming tasks and meet production deadlines. 
  • Train new trimmers in proper techniques and safety procedures. Provide ongoing coaching and skill development. 
  • Work closely with the inventory supervisor on inventory levels of untrimmed and trimmed cannabis flower and coordinate with the packaging and distribution team to meet demands. 
  • Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure trimmed cannabis flower meets company standards, regulatory requirements, and market customer satisfaction (i.e. Bag Appeal). 
  • Stay informed about all relevant cannabis regulations related to trimming practices and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. 
  • Ensure that the trimming area is kept clean and organized. Follow sanitation protocols to prevent contamination of product. 
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for trimmers and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. 
  • Continuously evaluate and improve trimming techniques and processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Monitor daily output and adjust staffing as needed. 
  • Maintain precise trimming records, including production quantities, inventory levels, and quality control measures.  


Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional education or training in cannabis cultivation, processing, or related fields is preferred.  
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cannabis cultivation, processing, or manufacturing, with specific expertise in trimming preferred. 
  • Deep expertise in cannabis strains, genetics, processing methods, and trimming equipment knowledge.  
  • Familiarity with cannabis regulations and compliance requirements, including tracking systems such as METRC or similar seed-to-sale systems preferred. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and cannabis-specific software for tracking inventory, processing data, and ensuring compliance. 
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to efficiently supervise and motivate a team. 
  •  Genuine passion for the cannabis industry, with a focus on quality, sustainability, and responsible cultivation and processing practices. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to consistently producing high-quality products for the CA marketplace and consumer. 
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions. 
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, are required to interact effectively with team members, vendors, and regulatory agencies. 
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, climb, stretch and lift up to 50 pounds. Requires the manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment and hand tools.

Work Environment:
This position can involve a fair amount of manual labor when needed, which requires repetitive tasks. This position operates indoors which can reach different temperatures. This position may require working at heights up to or exceeding 10 feet. The Cultivation Department operates on weekends and holidays, and standard work hours may apply regardless of day or season.
