Junior Mechanic

The Junior Mechanic is responsible for executing essential vehicle and equipment repairs, assisting senior mechanics, and ensuring that all work meets high safety and quality standards. Strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively are crucial for success in this role.

 

As a Junior Mechanic, your duties include but aren't limited to:

  • Performing routine vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
  • Diagnosing and repairing small engines and mechanical issues in various types of vehicles and equipment.
  • Assisting senior mechanics with more complex repairs and overhauls as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all services performed and parts used.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding vehicle status and recommended services.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in vehicle preventive maintenance and small engine repair.
  • Possess a starter tool set necessary for performing basic maintenance and repairs.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Basic understanding of automotive and small engine systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Maintain a valid Indiana Driver’s License with clean driving record and insurability
  • Reliable transportation to work (Office in Westfield)
  • Ability to lift 50lbs. on a regular basis
  • Ability to work independently with good time management skills
  • Team oriented focus
  • Adherence to the company’s policies and safety standards
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and extended hours during busy season

 

Job Type

FULL TIME HOURLY RATE BASED ON EXPERIENCE

 

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Saturday (when needed)
  • Overtime
