Job Description

Secretary Rehab Aide, Full time

8:30am - 5:00pm

Aberdeen, MD

JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, provides clerical support through filing of departmental documents and patient records and scheduling patient appointments. Under direct supervision, assists with patient treatment as permitted by state guidelines.  Under general supervision, transports patients, prepares treatment areas and equipment, cleans used equipment, monitors and maintains inventory of supplies, cleans and organizes the department. Serves a patient population of varying ages and diagnoses.

 

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education & Training: High school diploma preferred. BLS required.

Work Orientation & Experience: Previous customer service experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities: a. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  b. Ability to operate various office machines.  c. Ability to answer multi-line phones.  d. Ability to maintain confidentiality.  e. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.  f. Ability to operate various software applications for word processing.  g. Demonstrates excellent telephone skills and attention to detail.  h. Ability to manage time and set priorities according to demands of the job.  i.  Ability to problem solve to perform essential functions of the job.  j. Ability to adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the organization.  k. Ability to make independent decisions.  l. Applicants must achieve a satisfactory score in a word processing and/or spreadsheet list.  m. Excellent verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills, including the ability to instruct others.  n. Interpersonal skills to enable the aide to establish and maintain rapport with the patient.  o. Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of healthcare providers and hospital team members.
