SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the engineering design of manufacturing jig, fixtures, assemblies to support the plant. From calculation and analysis, design, testing, evaluation and implementation for successful completion of various improvement projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Engineering implementation of new manufacturing designs from conception, prototyping, proof of concept, testing and production.
- Utilize CAD software to develop concepts and designs.
- Assist in performing Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Perform design modifications as appropriate.
- Assist in tests to qualify new products.
- Assist in the assembly and evaluate the performance of prototype hardware.
- Identify, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of engineering quality assurance issues as appropriate.
- Establish and execute qualification/validation testing.
- Ensure thorough design reviews throughout the development process via prototypes, multi-disciplined teams, and various analytical tools.
- Ensure the manufacturability of all designs via cross functional interaction with the manufacturing department.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge in the safe operating procedures for compressed natural gas and the various compliance requirements affiliated with CNG.
- Establish and execute project timing based on established project deliverables and provide regular project updates to management.
- Develop and document step by step method sheets and work instructions for assigned products to facilitate manufacturing processes.
- Support the implementation of Root Cause Corrective Actions.
- Identify and analyze product productivity and quality improvement opportunities.
- Support activities between Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality Control/Quality Assurance.
- Document design and procedures of any products or projects as assigned.
- Develop bill of materials for specific projects as needed.
- Demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in business operational shrewdness, good judgment, planning, communicating orally and in writing, business knowledge, and expertise within areas of responsibility. Show understanding and knowledge of key market trends.
- Maintain a positive corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, integrity, and a constructive work environment, enabling the company to attract, retain, and motivate quality employees and to increase customer satisfaction and retention.

- QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Education and/or Experience: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years’ experience preferably with OEM or engine manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Six Sigma Methodologies is a plus.
- Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Must obtain and maintain the applicable employee license with the Texas Railroad Commission; must pass test within 45 days of hire. Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Mathematical Skills: Excellent understanding of mathematical operations including advanced statistics. A strong understanding of engineering principles is required.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of CAD software is a requirement. Experience in design projects, manufacturing process, calculation and design analysis. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Must be willing to travel.
