About Us:
We are a dynamic team supporting the State of Illinoisnetworking infrastructure across 150 locations. Our team is currently handling multiple critical projects to enhance and secure our network. We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team and assist with these initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside our Network Architect to design and implement VLAN segregation. Ensure facility VLANs can communicate with our server farm VLANs while restricting access to our Executive office VLAN.
- Assist in the migration from an on-premises server structure to a cloud-based infrastructure (Azure and AWS). This includes designing and securing virtual firewalls, SD-WAN routers, and other network components.
- Participated in the design and configuration of on-site networks for multiple building projects. Occasional travel may be required to provide on-site expertise.
- Support the ongoing project to switch 135 facilities to an Aruba SD-WAN setup.
- Contribute to the implementation phase of our wireless network replacement project.
- Collaborate with the team to address various network needs arising from the modernization of our main applications.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in network engineering and design.
- Proficiency with VLAN configuration and network segregation.
- Experience with cloud-based network infrastructure (Azure, AWS).
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technology, particularly Aruba.
- Familiarity with wireless network implementation.
- Ability to travel occasionally to various project sites.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with virtual firewalls and advanced network security.
- Understanding of on-premises to cloud migration processes.
- Previous involvement in large-scale network projects.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
