Summary:
Kairos Academies is seeking a passionate, innovative, and dedicated 5th Grade Teacher to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:

Position Overview:

  • Curriculum Development and Instruction: Design and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with state standards and caters to the diverse needs of our students. Deliver engaging, thought-provoking, and interactive lessons that encourage critical thinking and a love for learning.
  • Student Engagement: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that motivates students to participate actively in their learning process. Use innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance the learning experience.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer a variety of assessment tools to measure student progress towards learning objectives. Provide constructive feedback to students and implement strategies to support individual learning needs.
  • Classroom Management: Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Address behavioral issues promptly and with care, maintaining a focus on students’ emotional and social development.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success. Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding students’ progress, potential concerns, and achievements.
  • Professional Development: Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional growth. Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with best practices in education and subject matter expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant field. 
  • Valid teaching certificate/license for 5th grade or applicable age group.
  • Substitute Certification Accepted 
  • Proven experience as a 5th Grade Teacher or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum standards and effective instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, students, and parents.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability and competence in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use a variety of computer applications and platforms. Ability to use basic office equipment. Also knowledge and experience in using a computer-based student Information Management system.

The noise level is low to high and may have frequent interruptions. There may be activity from other employees and students of a distracting nature.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Satisfactory criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable. Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization.

Schedule:

  • In-person teaching Monday through Friday 7:30am 4:00pm 
    • Some weekends and evenings will be required 

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Saint Louis, MO 63118: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required). Please note, this is not a remote position. All Kairos teachers are required to deliver in-person instruction onsite, in our school in St. Louis.
