The Line Lead at SBM will oversee the safe and efficient site-filling line operations at our Pasadena Manufacturing Plant to ensure all standards for safety, quality, health, and environmental operations are met or exceeded. The Line Lead will also foster a culture of continuous improvement, train on all positions on the line, operate filler, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

Shift Type: 1st shift: 6:45am-3:30pm

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage downtime sheets, OEE, material supply coordination, team member job rotation, and QHSE requirements related to production
  • Ability to operate and adjust packaging equipment for proper operations of filling unit, heat sealer, label machine, capping machine, tape machine, lot coder, tanks, meters, ventilations, mixers, and others as required
  • Understand and train others on the principles of fill weights, heat setting, machine tooling, line speeds, and sampling procedures set forth by BCS to ensure defect-free products.
  • Understand and train others on start-up / shut-down procedures
  • Understand and train others on equipment settings to ensure consistency of operations
  • Ensure all products and components are produced conform to all operations/packaging instructions and safety procedures.
  • Ensure all team members comply with safety procedures (refer to IH-4 of the Occupational Health & Safety Manual)
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area to ensure no contamination of product/equipment and or injury can accrue. Lead by example.
  • Accurate/legible reporting and documentation on all fill sheets, EOR manifests and transactions.
  • Assign team member ‘lines assignments’ and oversee line employees
  • Employee is responsible for following all QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Env.) policies and procedures which include, but are not limited to: Attending scheduled safety training, following’
  • Responsible for daily report tracking using barcode “Sage” system.
  • Responsible for EOR SOP and preparing material for proper transfer.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Housekeeping on their assigned equipment.
  • APP reporting.
    1. downtime,
    2. run,
    3. maintenance (using codes)
    4. communicate daily production goals,
    5. report and declare finish goods,
    6. EOR process
  • Manage and lead the production team.
  • Safety requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Education or GED
  • Knowledge of SDS
  • Knowledge/participation in the Pasadena Performance System

Work Experience:

  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience highly preferred
  • Experience as a supervisor previously preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • General computer skills- data entry into systems
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to set up all equipment associated with the packaging of finished goods

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift to 55 pounds and work seasonal night shifts in peak season and weekends as needed. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
