Responsible for ensuring credit and administrative-related functions for Consumer Lending are efficiently run and properly supervised. Ensures Consumer Loan Underwriting staff is adequately trained and takes proper levels of risk as directed by Leadership. Handles administrative functions as assigned by the Director of Consumer Lending. Monitors risk concentrations, growth, production, and other measurables in assigned loan portfolios and monthly production. Works with Branch Management and Regional Directors of Retail to improve performance and knowledge of lending with the lending team. Responsible for Indirect Dealer relationship management, due diligence, and site visitations. Expected to build and maintain strong relationships with indirect partners and other vendors integral to Consumer Lending functions.

  • Manage Indirect Dealer relationships through phone, face-to-face, and other contact methods. Be the liaison between the Credit Union and the Dealer while always acting in the Credit Union's best interest first and foremost. Collect annual due diligence, conduct on-site visits, and report any issues or concerns to the Director of Consumer Lending and CUDL rep.
  • Underwrite consumer loans including credit applications, credit reports, income, assets, collateral, and membership history. Must have working knowledge of the lending process: underwriting, and credit analysis. Will be expected to have a thorough understanding of how to read a credit bureau, analyze risk, evaluate the direction or trend of an applicant’s credit, and verify all supporting documents properly.
  • In a quality control capacity, will be responsible for verifying loan pricing accuracy, confirming income verification is adequate, loan category and product codes align with the loan request, applications are fully completed with all required information, and loan decisions are properly documented.
