Principal Manufacturing is seeking a Material Handler to join our team in Broadview, IL. As a leader in fineblanking, conventional stamping and plastic injection molding, Principal Manufacturing sets itself above the competition.

The material handler will support the Outside Processing Department by loading, unloading, and moving material within the department or from specified destinations both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload trucks and move materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials or marks information on case, bale or other containers.
  • Reads work orders or follows oral instructions. Examines material for legibility and then scans materials and does the data entry into the (ERP system) Plex.
  • Removes scrap from work areas and maintains work areas as clean and safe.
  • Assist in coordination of deliveries, and drives the truck to any necessary destinations, such as suppliers or customers.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies and informs Supervisor of any maintenance required.
  • Sorting parts as needed.
  • Ability to Create Purchase Orders and Receipts

Requirements:

  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and change approach to best fit the current situation
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Education/Certification
  • Basic Mathematical & Computer Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and use time effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Organization Skills
  • 6 months experience in material handling & forklift operation in a fast-paced environment.
    • Bilingual (Spanish prefer)
    • Experience with Plex operating system
  • Must be flexible and able to work changing hours based on job needs.
  • Must have valid drivers license, proof of auto insurance and a safe driving record.
  • Follows all Company Safety Rules and maintains work area clean and use common sense at all times within the lean guidelines.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and able stand/ bend for 8 hours.
  • Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events as they arise.
  • Based on need, may be asked to perform other duties as required by PMC.
