Overview

The Catherization Lab Supervisor maintains accountability for daily operations and delivery of patient care through assisting the Manager with supervising, leading and mentoring Cath Lab staff. Serves as a role model and expert resource to Cath Lab staff, supports Cath Lab team as needed, and assists with personnel actions, staff development, evaluation and counseling/coaching.

Responsibilities

People Management*Works with Cath Lab Manager, staff, and Human Resources to resolve work related issues.

*Assists with completing performance evaluations.

*Assists with oversight for Cath Lab staffing schedule needs in accordance with budget and target guidelines proactively reviewing future schedules.

* Assists Cath Lab Manager with overseeing the design and follow through of an orientation that addresses the individual needs of the employee.

* Assists Cath Lab Manager with promoting an environment that motivates, nurtures and empowers staff.

* Assists with working with employees to facilitate and achieve skill, educational and performance goals.

* Assist staff in developing plans outlining improvement process when needed.

* Ensures staff accountability, monitors and recognizes staff performance and improvements, and provides real time constructive feedback whenever possible.

* Identifies performance opportunities for improvement and provides resources and education as needed.

* Assists the Cath Labe Manager with writing and delivering employee performance evaluations.

* Collaborates and communicates with the clinical manager regarding staff performance.

*Occasionally may need to take a patient assignment.Staff Development* In collaboration with the Cath Lab Manager ensures staff members are adequately trained and are competent to perform all required job tasks.

*Assists the Cath Lab Manager in creating and sustaining a learning environment supported by evidenced-based practice and research.

*Focuses on personal development areas, engaging in professional/collegial interactions with peers and students.

*Work collaboratively with peers and other healthcare providers, and participates in ongoing in-service and educational seminars.

*Participates in the mentoring and education of colleagues. Assists Cath Lab Manager with providing training for new services, technology, medications, and equipment on an on-going basis. Utilizes onsite education when possible.Compliance/Safety* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Practices in a safe and cost-effective manner.

* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.

* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.

* Maintains timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, EMR entries, and patient responses.

Qualifications

EducationBSN – Required or in lieu of BSN, ARRT is requiredExperience2 years recent hospital clinical experience- Required

Team leadership experience in Catherization Lab or Cardiovascular - RequiredCertification & LicensuresRN or ARRT – Required
ACLS (American Heart Assoc) - RequiredCALL REQUIRED: Must be able to physically show upNo
