Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Hackensack, NJ

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors, the Registered Respiratory Therapist provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as outlined in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

Essential Generic Job Functions:

  • Providing respiratory therapy under medical direction, including education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
  • Assisting with intubation and managing ventilator setups.
  • Gathering necessary information to evaluate patient needs, including disease education, testing, and consultations with other healthcare professionals.
  • Developing rapport with patients/caregivers and team members to foster an optimal environment for goal achievement.
  • Providing and documenting education to patients/caregivers based on identified needs.
  • Adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
  • Strong sense of accountability for improving patient lives.
  • Exceptional focus on teamwork.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality care with a strong patient focus.
  • 1+ year of recent RRT experience.
  • 1+ years of ICU experience, including ventilator management.
  • BLS and RRT license required.
  • PALS and ACLS highly preferred.
  • Must be willing to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floor.

Education:

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.

Preferred Education:

  • N/A

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • BLS - AHA.
  • ACLS.
  • PALS.
  • Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license and Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.

  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Technician)
