Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Damage Investigator/Auditor position will be responsible for performing the following duties:
- Perform gas damage investigations and document findings.
- Handle daily LP ticket audits to ensure locate accuracy and that policy/procedures are being met.
- Ability to respond to after-hours damage investigations.
- Select target audits based upon existing company procedures.
- Route daily audits in logical manner.
- Interact with locate technicians, supervisors and crews.
- Use lap top computer/tablet to receive, document and email.
- Provide on-site remediation when necessary.
- Mentor departmental new hires on field aspect of job.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum one year of locating experience, two to three years preferred.
- Able to effectively communicate with Locate personal, excavation contractors and VNG representatives in the field.
- Background in all facets of underground utility installation/utility locating with an emphasis on an enhanced knowledge of utility locating fundamentals and procedures.
- Preferred candidate should live within 75 mile radius of specified market or be willing to relocate.
- Dependable and trustworthy.
- Ability to look beyond the standard solutions.
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug and alcohol free.
REQUIREMENTS
- Requires the availability for call out, including some mandatory overtime.
- May require weekend and holiday work when necessary.
- Some travel may be required, including overnight stays and out-of-town assignments and/or training.
- Ability to walk all types of terrain (grass, ditches, wooded areas, gravel, etc.) in and around construction zones and residential, commercial, industrial and rural areas in all types of weather conditions (rain snow, cold, heat, etc.)
- Must be able to work alone, independently, and responsible.
WORK ENVIRONMENT - Ability to stand and walk for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
- Regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes and variety of terrains.
