Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation Solutions: Deliver innovative automation solutions and design standards independently or as part of a team.
  • System Design: Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery, meeting customer requirements.
  • Control System Architecture: Develop control system architecture, select components, detail schematic diagrams, and create system documentation.
  • Programming: Program controllers (PLC, DCS/Delta V) and process visualization (HMI/SCADA), develop databases for historical system data, and implement control systems at client facilities.
  • Networking: Design, detail, and implement fiber, wired, and wireless systems using industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
  • Project Management: Develop project execution plans, budgets, schedules, and track project progress. Manage daily operations of projects up to $10M.
  • Team Leadership: Act as the technical lead on projects, guide lower-level engineers and technicians, and mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain strong communication with clients to understand requirements and provide solutions.


Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years in industrial automation.
    • In-depth understanding of Emerson DeltaV platform and PLC-5 to ControlLogix conversions.
    • Proficiency in PLC hardware/software platforms (Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Modicon).
    • Expertise in HMI/SCADA platforms (Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk, Aveva System Platform, Inductive Automation Ignition, GE iFIX, Siemens Winn CC, TI Portal).
    • Understanding of DCS platforms (Emerson DeltaV or similar).
    • Experience with Batch/Recipes, OEE, MES, and ERP systems.
    • Design of electrical schematics and control panels, including power distribution under 480VAC and associated NEC references.
    • Project management experience (PMP certification preferred).
    • Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
    • Industry experience in Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food and Beverage, Water Treatment, and general manufacturing.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, and leadership skills.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25%, mostly local to the Dallas Metroplex.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, ability to mount/dismount equipment, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work Environment: Standard office environment, on-site industrial environments, frequent use of a personal computer, and other office equipment.
