STOREKEEPER - TRUCK DRIVER

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As directed by the Warehouse Manager or his/her designee, responsible for the receiving, storage and delivery to designated operating units, all food, equipment and supplies. Understand and observe necessary high sanitation standards required in transporting food stuffs to dining units.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE

  1. Receive food, equipment, and supplies at the Commissary within the prescribed receiving procedures.
  2. Place in storage all products according to standard warehousing practices.
  3. Assemble orders per unit requisitions utilizing computerized requisition documents.
  4. Load trucks and deliver orders to respective designated areas.
  5. Observe all NYS traffic laws both on campus and off campus.
  6. General maintenance of Commissary vehicles including engine fluid checks, cleaning, washing, and waxing. Report mechanical problems to the supervisor.
  7. Responsible for Commissary housekeeping of food storage areas (dry, frozen, and refrigerated), as well as dusting and mopping all areas, refuse removal, and cleaning restroom facilities.
  8. Pick up and deliver mail, money, banking deposits, and change as scheduled.
  9. Responsible for friendly, helpful service to their internal customers.
  10. Maintain personal appearance and hygiene within stated Auxiliary Services and governmental guidelines.
  11. Perform duties in accordance with established safety practices.
  12. Perform other similar or related tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to lift 100 pounds. (change to 75 lb per labor/management 4/2015)
  • Must have and maintain a valid NYS Class D license to operate the employer's trucks, vans and automobiles.
  • Must be insurable on an unrated, non-pool basis in a company authorized to do insurance business in New York State.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
