Position Summary:
Plans and directs all data processing activities of the corporation to meet organizational needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides efficient and secure computer systems and services to meet organizational needs.
- Investigates, evaluates, and recommends data processing resource requirements, including personnel, equipment, software, and housing with associated costs and coordinates with the short and long-term goals of the corporation.
- Evaluates new technical developments in view of organization plans and objectives
- Develops plans and budgets for the data processing activity.
- Reports to management regarding performance of personnel and equipment resources.
- Analyzes resources utilization and initiates programs for improvement.
- Projects data processing resource requirements, including personnel, equipment and facilities with associated costs and coordinates with the goals of the corporation.
- Responsible for the approval of all personal computer acquisitions. Responsible for PC inventory for all domestic locations.
- Interfaces with corporate and divisional management to develop priorities and directions.
- Maintains vendor contacts for negotiations of hardware and software acquisitions.
- Administers all work rules, disciplinary actions and employment practices, including those related to equal opportunities, employee performance appraisals and salary administration.
- Works with and coordinates activities involving multiple services providers including primary hosting provider, contract network support group, and business systems technical support team.
- Enforces reasonable standards for hardware and software across all global IT locations
- Performs miscellaneous related duties and carries out special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Training in advanced management practices, skills and concepts, administrative management, project control, budgeting and planning
- Must have a minimum of seven years’ managerial experience. Must be capable of managing and motivating professional employees and possess leadership, communication skills and sound judgment.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft PC and Server Operating Systems, Virtualized Server Environments, and Basic Networking Infrastructure.
- Strong working knowledge of Oracle/JDE, C, C++, Visual Basic, Citrix, Adobe Cold Fusion, Metaframe, Microsoft Visio, SQL, Dot Environment, and Access programming.
Education and/or Experience:
- Four-year college degree in business related subjects plus related technical courses.
- Over ten years of IT infrastructure and business systems experience
Travel Requirements:
Estimated travel may be greater than 10% both domestic and international.
Physical Requirements:
There may be physical demands based on infrastructure needs.
Working Conditions:
Flexibility based on critical needs.
