Riverpoint Medical is looking to hire a Supply Chain Manager for our location at The Coyol Business Park in Alajuela, Costa Rica. At Riverpoint you will be part of the process that brings great technology to Medical, Dental and Veterinary markets. We specialize in the design and manufacturing of premium medical devices. Our ingenuity can be found in our suture technologies, sports medicine fibers and anchors, surgical lighting, and special needle technologies. The Riverpoint Medical Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing the production, planning, and purchasing to maximize the process efficiency and productivity while delivering improved performance year over year.

Duties and Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Manage and oversee purchasing and movement of all materials.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices, contracts, etc.
  • Lead development of purchasing strategies to maximize material availability while optimizing inventory levels.
  • Implement best practices related to supplier management and supplier quality assurance.
  • Responsible for vendor and raw material maintenance in and outside the ERP system
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, annual forecasts for vendors.
  • Manage vendor quality issues in collaboration with the Quality team.
  • Train in receiving and oversee receiving department.
  • Evaluate and Report Days Inventory on Hand (DIOH) monthly.
  • Establish process to communicate specification changes to suppliers.
  • Create strategic improvement solutions to improve material flow through all manufacturing lines.
  • Actively look for purchasing processes improvements and implement best practices.
  • Implement reorder system for all 80% of non-inventory items.
  • Work directly with manufacturing to review customer backorders in relation to raw material shortages.
  • Drive cost saving initiatives.
  • Experience with required permits and customs procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to identify and close any operational gaps.
  • Work order scheduling and maintenance.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a purchasing, materials management role working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Significant knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
  • Proven management experience (preferred
  • Computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills.
