PURPOSE:


To oil and lubricate equipment throughout the Plant.


SUMMARY:


Lubricate and maintain equipment while complying with GMP and Food Safety requirements. Inspect equipment and identify preventative maintenance needs. Communicate with co-workers and operations about problems, complete work orders as necessary. Keep daily maintenance log by documenting service of equipment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices.

It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action.


This is a representative sample--not to imply a complete listing of all responsibilities and tasks.


  1. Lubricate Equipment On A Daily Basis:
  2. Grease bearings, gears, zerk fittings, etc.
  3. Lubricate chains, gear boxes and machinery as required
  4. Refill Gearboxes.
  5. Fill Automatic-lubing systems at Urschels, Atlas' and Evap Dryer with grease and inspect
  6. Inspect and maintain grease lines as needed.
  7. Check chains to determine oil needed and fill oil reservoirs
  8. Utilize tools to perform lubrication: grease guns, mechanical tools, oil cans, etc.

  1. Supply Parts Needed
  2. Fill out parts request and forward to purchasing clerk or Supervisor
  3. Assist parts clerk with weekly cycle counts.

  1. Communicate Effectively:
  2. Receive information from Supervisor or Maintenance Manager regarding lubing needs
  3. Discuss problems with Supervisor or Maintenance Manager
  4. Notify mechanics of problems
  5. Complete daily log book

  1. Inspect and Adjust Equipment As Needed:
  2. Observe equipment while walking through area
  3. Adjust packing, belts, chains as needed
  4. Adjust conveyors as needed

  1. Monitor Equipment throughout the Plant:
  2. Perform checks for preventative maintenance
  3. Notify maintenance of equipment malfunction and follow up with work orders
  4. Drain and refill gear boxes as needed using correct lubricant
  5. Change grease lines and fittings as needed

  1. Utilize GMP and Food Safety Requirements
  2. Identify GMP and Food Safety issues
  3. Prevent contamination of food contact areas
  4. Ensure that no excess lube/oils remain after greasing/filling/servicing
  5. Comply with all GMP and Food Safety requirements
  6. Ensure all lubricants are stored and transported in approved containers with proper labels.

  2. Follow proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures/standards.
  3. Follow all Haz-Com and Chemical Safety procedures/standards.
  4. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practice procedures and standards.
  5. Follow all Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point procedure/standards.
  6. Wear required and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
  7. Identify and address all unsafe conditions and unsafe acts - Report to Supervisor on shift
  8. Follow all other applicable safety rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


SKPP

  • Must meet specific qualifications detailed in SKPP: Plant Specific, Skill Block, Performance standards and other criteria.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year position-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak and understand in English, in order to interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Required: Washington State Driver's License, Forklift Certification

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Employee must have training and/or certification in the following:
  1. Forklift Operation
  2. Confined Space Training

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:


Required during production duties:

· Hair Net

· Bump Cap

· Rubber Gloves

· Hearing Protection

· Particulate Respirator (N95)*

· Full-Face Respirator (For Ammonia Response)

*Whenever working in an area where respiratory protection is required



Additional PPE required during sanitation duties:

· Rain/Wet Gear

· Safety Glasses

· Rubber Boots

· Face Shield



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
