Founded in 1990, Request Foods is a privately held, family-owned and operated frozen food manufacturer located in Holland, MI. We produce, package, and ship an assortment of frozen food entrees for Private Labels and National Brands for both the retail and food service markets. Our mission is to honor God in all we do, to help people develop, to pursue excellence, and to grow profitably.
Summary: The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for supporting the production team and maintenance department with their parts and supply needs while ensuring the maintenance tool room is clean and well organized. The Tool Crib Attendant is an Office Hourly paid position and will report to Judy Smith, MRO Buyer.
Specific duties of the Tool Crib Attendant include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining the RQH/GSP/QSP tool cribs independently,
- Issuing and receiving parts using the DSI system ensuring excellent data accuracy
- Assisting with ordering stock, performing cycle counts and assisting with sending parts out to be repaired.
- Inspects incoming materials and verifies order accuracy
- Assisting Mechanics and Production team members locating parts
- Entering master data for new parts and obsoleting old data
- Additional duties as assigned
- Attendant is responsible for safe operation of manual material handling equipment (i.e. handjack) and of company vehicle when necessary.
The successful Tool Crib candidate will be responsible for consistently practicing safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Necessary skills and qualifications required to be successful include:
- Candidates must have some mechanical aptitude & knowledge
- Should be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.
- Attention to detail is essential, working with part numbers and cost data possessing a keen sense of organization.
- The ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally, and possess of a valid driver's license is required.
- Candidates must be able to adjust to a work environment that is fast paced and the ability to manage multiple tasks and be self-directed.
- Embraces a diverse set of team members, customers and vendors.
- Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Computer literacy in JD Edwards and/or DSI is preferred but we will train on the software if necessary. Previous tool room experience
