Wire EDM Machinist/Operator

Principal Manufacturing is seeking a 1st shift Wire EDM Machinist/Operator to join our team in Broadview, IL. As a leader in fineblanking, conventional stamping and plastic injection molding, Principal Manufacturing sets itself above the competition.

The Wire EDM Machinist/Operator will independently read and interpret blue prints, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control setting, and machining methods and sequences. Schedule these activities for best work flow.

Responsibilities:

  • Review AutoCAD files for accuracy and work with Engineering to ensure documentation.
  • Perform dimensional inspection of various products and verify fixture setup meets acceptable quality standards regarding milling and boring sizes, depths, angles or other specifications.
  • Training, development, supervising subordinates, and contributing to building a positive team spirit.
  • Operate machine and monitor displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Order materials, perform minor maintenance, and schedule machine maintenance when necessary.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
  • Follows all company safety rules and TS requirements and maintain work area clean and orderly within lean guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education/certification
  • Proficient in basic Math.
  • Communicate effectively with management at all levels.
  • Must have 5 years of experience with wire EDM set-up and operating programs experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform basic mechanical set up of equipment.
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD and Espirit
  • Forklift certified.
  • Certified Journeyman Tool and Die Maker
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
