Job Title: Manual Welder


Job Schedule (2nd Shift): Monday - Thursday, 2:00 pm - 12:30 am, 1/2 hour unpaid lunch, 2 paid breaks


Job Description:


The Manual Welder at LayerZero Power Systems will be responsible for inspecting, building, welding, and testing fabricated assemblies for use in LayerZero products. This role will effectively manage all equipment maintenance and upkeep. The manual welder must demonstrate welding and inspection knowledge that allows them to work from general instructions, shop drawings, blueprints, and diagrams. LayerZero is looking for someone with strong attention to detail, communication skills, and great concentration to join our team.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and read blueprints and drawings and ensure they meet the desired measurements
  • Setting up, operate, and maintain welding equipment
  • Selecting appropriate materials and welding methods based on requirements
  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols in the workplace
  • Use necessary controls for weld parameter adjustments
  • Align components using calipers, tape measures, and other tools as well as jigs, fixtures, and clamps
  • Perform visual examination of welds
Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing prints and products
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic shop math (ability to do simple calculations)

Preferred:

  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools
  • High attention to detail that is balanced by the ability to meet production demands
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to learn multiple types of welding and test equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and carry heavy objects
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Manual dexterity (ability to use hands and fingers in a coordinated and skillful way to grasp, manipulate, and move objects with precision)
