Job DescriptionJob Description

CH Thompson is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Department Lead/Supervisor for the Anodize/Industrial Paint Masking department on 1st shift. This role is pivotal to our finishing process, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, supplies are available, and quality standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management:
    • Lead and supervise a team of Anodize/Industrial Paint Maskers, ensuring they remain on task and productive.
    • Conduct daily meetings to set goals and review progress.
    • Address any performance issues and provide training and support as needed.
  • Supply Management:
    • Ensure all team members have the necessary supplies and tools to complete their jobs efficiently. Plan ahead to ensure there are no gaps in production and/or down time.
    • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to replenish supplies as needed.
  • Work Order Management:
    • Review and interpret detailed work order instructions to guide the team in accurately masking parts according to specifications.
    • Ensure work orders are followed meticulously to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Operational Efficiency:
    • Monitor production schedules to ensure job targets are met.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Work Environment Maintenance:
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
    • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Previous experience in masking for anodizing or industrial painting preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
    • Experience in a supervisory or team lead role is highly desirable.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
    • Ability to read and interpret work orders and blueprints.
    • Basic understanding of masking techniques and tools.
    • Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work with small components.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
