The Lead Wiring Technician duties include installation of network cabling and associated hardware at our customer sites, as well as train and manage other Wiring Technicians on the job. Technician must be capable of installing and troubleshooting all types of structured cable and related technologies, including CAT5e, CAT6, Co-axial, and fiber optic. Technician must be able to manage a job site and interact with both the customer and Wolff Networks Management.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial voice/data cabling experience
  • Valid Driver license and reliable vehicle
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.
  • High School Diploma or GED

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Voice/data cabling experience (dress and route) at customer premise telecom closets, IT rooms, modular furniture and other work area outlets (RJ45 jack boxes)
  • Possess working knowledge of BICSI, NSI, TIA, EIA cabling standards and the National Electric Code
  • Knowledge in all aspects of fiber optic termination, splicing, and testing
  • Construction abilities installing plywood backboards, using ladders, mounting cameras, and wireless access points, experience with power tools and drilling equipment
  • Experience training and directing or supervising other workers
  • A high level of character and integrity who will represent our company in a professional manner at all times
  • Proactive, highly organized, detail oriented, and excellent communication skills

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assess customer sites and conduct job site surveys. Read and create diagrams, as built, layouts, blueprints, and scope of work documents
  • Interface with our field team as well as the onsite customer contacts on projects and work orders
  • Perform installation of cabinets, racks, cabling, labeling, cameras, wireless access points, and phone set equipment
  • Test, troubleshoot, certify, label and photograph to close out jobs
  • Validate the Customer Site Document (CSD) to accurately document the physical and logical elements of a customer’s network
  • Submit daily work logs, weekly expenses, and ad-hoc reports
