Position Overview

The Supply Chain Manager will manage and lead strategic initiatives to drive the flow of materials into the facility, through the facility and outbound, in a way that maximizes on-time delivery while minimizing inventory and logistics cost.

What you'll do

  • Manage and effectively oversee the procurement and scheduling / planning team for all goods, supplies, and services to support the production cycle time requirements and maintain and / or improve customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain continuous knowledge of company sales & market trends of finished goods to determine current inventory volumes and future materials and inventory needs.
  • Analyze and implement the optimal inventory level according to sales, demand, capacity to achieve OTD, acceptable inventory, and productivity goals.
  • Develop and maintain effective contacts and working relationships with key suppliers.
  • Provide forecast to suppliers according to sales demand and sales trend.
  • Analyze, create, maintain, and communicate supplier's scorecard to maintain / improve OTD.
  • Identify, lead and support cost control initiatives.
  • Participate in daily management meetings to ensure effective communication throughout all levels.
  • Support and assure KPI metrics, are reported out as required both accurately and timely.
  • Maintain current knowledge of rates, tariffs, Hazmat, import and export regulations for all modes of the transportation industry including Air, Ocean, Ground and U.S. Postal service regulations to ensure optimal costs and service.
  • Support Distribution Center activity records (including lost/damaged shipments and employee on-site injuries) as required for insurance documentation and internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Plan and manage training, instruction, and guidance of the supply chain team to ensure their knowledge of proper equipment and use of accepted work processes and standards.
  • Utilize continuous improvement framework, lean concepts, and problem-solving tools to design and improve the performance of the extended supply chain function.
  • Utilize the ERP-MRP system to effectively manage all materials, Supplies, RM and FG inventory.
  • All other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required
  • 10 year supply chain management experience
  • 5 year manufacturing experience
  • 3-year experience managing or leading people
  • Strong knowledge in Excel, ERP and MRP system
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
