JOB TITLE: CAD Drafter/Designer

FLSA: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager

LOCATION: 100% Onsite in Parsons, TN

POSITION SUMMARY: The CAD Drafter/Designer is detail-oriented, responsible for creating and modifying detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software AutoCAD. This CAD Drafter/Designer is an expert in mechanical design and using other drafting tools to produce accurate and precise drawings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: “Essential functions” are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.

  • Develop and produce detailed technical drawings and plans utilizing AutoCAD software and other drafting tools to ensure accuracy and precision in mechanical design.
  • Analyze and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and other design documentation to inform drawing creation.
  • Maintain adherence to established design standards and guidelines in all drawing production.
  • Revise and update existing drawings as needed to reflect design modifications or improvements.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers and other team members to meet project deadlines and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Create comprehensive 2D and 3D drawings to accurately represent product designs and specifications.
  • Understand and apply project requirements to produce drawings that meet functional and aesthetic standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a CAD Drafter or a technical degree in a related field required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and drafting techniques.
  • Ability to accurately interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
