Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting in all areas of facility along with relieving cheesemakers. Following make schedule and staying on time to the production schedule. Monitoring ingredient inventory and milk volume during production hours. This position requires leadership skills with strict adherence to GMP, sanitation, safety, timekeeping and personal conduct rules.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist and relieve cheesemakers from breaks, vacations and or time off
• Follow production schedule to cheese types and timing
• Operate HTST, Vats, Separators, Homogenizers and CIP systems.
• Monitor ingredient inventory for cheese recipes
• Able to make adjustments during cheese make process
• Understand chemistry of cheese such as pH, Moisture, Fat and salt
• Conduct routine checks during production hours
• Review CCP/PC’s for quality purposes such as HTST cut in, cut out.
• Certified and licensed as a Cheesemaker and HTST operator
• Monitor cheese make process for equipment set up, scheduling, and rotations
• Communicate safety and or quality concerns to management and appropriate staff
• Responsible for strict adherence to GMP’s for all employees
• Accurate recordkeeping and specific paperwork
• Monitor process control points during production and cleaning hours

  • All other duties as assigned.

• Accountable for the entirety of facility and line’s productivity/efficiency
• Works as a team with positive attitude and behaviors
• Verbal and written communication skills; including ability to read, understand and follow written procedures (SOPs/SSOPs)
• Flexibility in job roles, assisting team mates along with covering breaks when needed to meet business needs
• Meet physical demands of role, Honest and high level of Integrity, high degree of personal hygiene per GMPs, dependable attendance to meet business demands
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
• Moderately strenuous work involving standing, walking with frequent bending, twisting, pushing and squatting; Repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Fast-paced clean environment; frequently cool, wet, and moderate noise along with working with chemicals
