This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-starter, independent, organized individual looking for a full-time Monday - Friday position for our Allergy Clinical Department in the Boca Raton area. You must be multitask oriented, motivated, able to handle a high volume of work in a laboratory and administrative environment. Must be willing to learn all aspects of Allergy.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for recording and maintaining logs of serum
  • Understands and can perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct doses
  • Assists with the proper labeling and preparation of serum vials.
  • Manages storage and inventory of supplies.
  • Responsible for reviewing allergy manuals and protocols ensuring understanding and compliance with all protocol's requirements.
  • Maintains a sterile environment, assuring that the Laboratory area is always kept clean and organized.
  • Reviews the Allergy Orders. Mixes the patient specific antigen(s) documenting each component in the mixing room. Mix all of the allergy immunotherapy serum for all allergy patients
  • Prepare and maintain treatment and mixing boards
  • Coordinates delivery and mailing of allergy extracts to other providers offices
  • Able to always interact and keep a professional demeanor with team members.
  • Responsible for proper biomedical waste disposal procedures.
  • Comply with USP standards in an allergy setting
  • Completes additional tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Works well in a team environment.
  • General knowledge of the laboratory process preferred.

Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.

  • Must be familiar with proper Laboratory procedures, OSHA regulations, Good Clinical Practices and Good Lab Practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a laboratory technician assistant is preferred.

Physical Demands: Coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of medical equipment and office equipment as required of the position or directed by the Manager. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. Incumbent must also be able to assist patients in transferring from wheelchair to an exam chair, when necessary. The incumbent must also be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
