Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Principal Oracle Database Administrator
Work Location: Onsite Washington, DC
What You'll be Doing:
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the RHEL 8.x OS in support of Oracle Database software in physical and virtualized environments.
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pluggable and containerized Oracle 19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments.
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle Data Guard.
- Performing RHEL 8.x and Oracle 19c upgrades/patching.
- Periodically validating Oracle 19c backup/recovery operations leveraging RMAN.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database performance.
- Providing on-demand support for database related issues and if need be, working with Oracle support to address any unsolvable issues.
- Creating, maintaining, upgrading/patching, and troubleshooting ESXi or Hyper-V hosted virtual machines.
- Reviewing, applying, and remediating security vulnerabilities or security controls based on STIG guidance or scanning reports.
- Installing firmware updates on physical database hosts.
- Communicating with customer and Everfox management daily, providing detailed summaries of activities along with in-depth trip reports where applicable.
- Assisting in the lifting/racking and cabling of physical hardware. **
- Possibility of 10% or less travel to customer coop site locations.

Environment #1
- Database Configuration: Primary and Secondary Oracle 19c database servers leveraging Oracle Data Guard.
- Database Size: 100TB, with growth at a rate of 2TB per month.
Environment #2
- Configuration: Primary and Secondary database servers leveraging Oracle Data Guard.
- Size: 100TB, with growth at a rate of 2TB per month.
Environment #3
- Configuration: Primary Oracle 19c database server.
- Size: 5TB, with growth at a rate of 2GB per month.
Things You Must Have to Apply:
- An active (currently in use) TS with SCI or SCI eligibility within two years from last use.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent education and/or work experience.
- At least one DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification at IAT level II (2) or higher.
Required only for DoD professional services roles. - The ability to obtain the appropriate work authorizations that may be required under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations from the applicable U.S government agency.
- 4+ years' experience performing the following tasks:
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the RHEL 8.x OS in support of Oracle Database software in physical and virtualized environments.
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pluggable and containerized Oracle 19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments.
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle Data Guard.
- Performing RHEL 8.x and Oracle 19c upgrades/patching.
- Periodically validating Oracle 19c backup/recovery operations leveraging RMAN.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database performance.
- Providing on-demand support for database related issues and working with Oracle support to address any unsolvable issues.

- Oracle RDBMS, partitioning, text indexing, grid, ASM, RMAN, SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting in support of automation and nightly processing jobs.
- Routing, switching, TCP/UDP/SSH/FTP/SCP/HTTPS protocols.
- Creating, renewing, installing, and troubleshooting secure certificates for use on web servers/sites, appliances, or networking hardware.
