Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGENERAL SUMMARY:

Operates “auto-pac” machines and/or other equipment/machinery required to package adhesive bandages, pads and/or other items into primary boxes reaching established productivity requirements while ensuring customer requirements and overall product quality standards FDA, MDD, and other applicable regulatory / statutory or ISO requirements are achieved for new and existing products and materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operates (including set-up and maintenance) auto-pac machines and other equipment used to package adhesive bandages
  • Makes adjustments, repairs, and day-to-day routine maintenance on auto-pac machines and/or other related equipment/machinery as required
  • Monitors quality of product coming off machines, assuring conformance with established customer specifications and quality standards
  • Fills out required paperwork to include work orders, lot sheets, finished goods two-part tag forms, inventory movement tickets, packaging inventory movement tickets, and maintenance of daily production reports and cleaning reports
  • May assists the Manager and Supervisor with the training of new employees
  • Position requires overtime to meet production requirements, trainings, and or management functions as needed
  • Maintains work area/machines in a clean and orderly manner returning materials top their required place
  • Maintains all functions in accordance with FDA, ISO, MDD Standards and is cross-trains in other positions within the Packaging department able and willing to carry-out other job functions/positions as production demands require.
  • All employees have the responsibility and authority to report any action that puts any process or product at risk.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 1+ years production experience preferred including machinery operations.

Skills & Abilities:

Must be able to read, write, and understand basic English. Must have good hand-eye coordination, able to safely run multiple versions of auto-pac machines to package adhesive bandages and surgical pads. Must have excellent hand and arm dexterity/movement. Strong mechanical aptitude, makes mechanical adjustments and does basic troubleshoot machinery. Must be detail oriented, able to work well with others while under pressure, and able to compute basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Must be capable of standing for a full shift (8 to 12 hours), able to lift, push, pull 50 lbs pounds, walk, stoop, kneel, bend over, and grasp objects with both hands on a frequent basis. Visual acuity or corrective vision required for this position including close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Ability to report to work on time, on a consistent and regular basis is required
