Job Summary

As a Nutritionist at Nao Medical, your pivotal role involves collaboratively setting both short and long-term health objectives with patients, while also engaging in public educational initiatives on health and nutrition. Crafting tailored nutritional and exercise regimens for patients will be a central aspect of your responsibilities. Moreover, your role encompasses the creation of meticulous meal plans tailored to each patient's specific dietary restrictions and needs. Through close patient interaction, you will play an integral part in nurturing the development of sustainable, health-conscious eating habits.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Counsels patients on various dietary issues and promotes healthy eating habits. This involves understanding each patient's unique needs and challenges and providing personalized advice to help them make informed dietary choices.

  • Works closely with patients to develop nutrition plans that align with their health goals, taking into consideration their budget and taste preferences. Creating plans that are both effective and sustainable for the patient's lifestyle is crucial.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the meal plans they've designed for patients. This involves tracking the patient's progress, analyzing changes in their health markers, and making adjustments to the nutrition plans as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.

  • Creates educational materials about healthy eating habits. These materials could include written guides, recipes, meal-planning tips, and other resources that help patients understand the importance of proper nutrition and make informed choices.

  • Engages in public speaking engagements, such as speaking to groups, to emphasize the significance of nutrition in preventing specific diseases.

  • Effectively communicates the relationship between diet and health, and provides actionable advice to promote healthier lifestyles within the community.


Skills and Qualifications

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution

  • Completion of all training required for NYS registration including BLS, ACLS, and Infection Control Training

  • Strong understanding of HIPAA Compliance and at least 1 year of experience working as a Licensed Nutritionist

  • Preferably fully licensed by New York State as Nutritionist or Dietitian.

  • Relevant certifications, such as Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)

  • Experience in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and bilingual skills (Spanish and English) is preferred but not required

  • Excels in interdisciplinary teamwork, supporting our mission through clear, thoughtful communication and respectful interactions.
