Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Industrial Lead Estimator to join our dynamic team at our Phoenix office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for water and wastewater treatment facilities, with hands-on experience in self-performance estimation across several key areas. As the Lead Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs, contributing to our commitment to delivering high-quality and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for heavy industrial projects, specifically in water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Evaluate and analyze project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to determine accurate cost estimates.
- Conduct self-performance estimation for process piping and equipment, underground utilities, structural concrete, earthwork, and structural/miscellaneous metals.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather and verify cost data.
- Review and analyze subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed cost databases and cost models.
- Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities affecting project costs and schedules.
- Provide support in the preparation of bid proposals, including detailed breakdowns and justifications for cost estimates.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and consistency in estimates and project execution.
- Stay updated with industry trends, labor rates, material costs, and construction methods to enhance estimation accuracy.
Salary: Approximately $160,000, depending on experience.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in heavy industrial estimating with a focus on water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Demonstrated experience in self-performance estimation in process piping and equipment, underground utilities, structural concrete, earthwork, and structural/miscellaneous metals.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
