M&M Quality Grinding has a rich history in the value-added steel processing sector dating back to 1981. Located in Hodgkins IL, M&M plays a critical role in their many customers' supply chains ranging from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to steel service centers. These companies serve a variety of markets including commercial and industrial, medical, oil & gas, food service, steel products distribution, etc.

Position Summary:

As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for working with an Account Manager alongside the Sales Manager to grow the business by reacting accurately and efficiently to inbound sales leads for value-added steel products. Primary tasks will include quoting, following up on large opportunities, order entry, and related status update requests from our customer base. This is a non-quota carrying role meaning you will be rewarded for the company's growth from a team perspective as we continue to hit new milestones. The company has aggressive growth plans that will be supported from the top down with investments in new machinery, expanded personnel, as well as quality management and production capacity-related initiatives. There will be significant room for career development and growth as well as strong financial incentives for achieving the company's growth targets.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior sales experience is mandatory.
    • Prior experience in the steel industry is strongly preferred.
  • Long-term relationship oriented.
  • Willing to develop rapport with buyers and procurement teams.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Quote and order entry for value-added steel products (precision ground bar)
  • Following up on quotes to understand objections (price / lead time / other) and relay said objections back to the Sales Manager to help improve close/win rates.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities throughout the sales process.
  • Assist with customer tours, meetings and follow-up activities.
  • Conduct oneself in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to walk, stand, sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel parts. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch.


Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Ear protection may be required for certain processes. Closed-toed shoes and eye protection are required for all activity on the shop floor.
