People Places currently has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Foster Parent Coordinator. This position is based in the Staunton office and serves a Regional area that includes Staunton, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg and surrounding counties. The position of Foster Parents Coordinator is full-time, exempt. The expected hours of work for this position are 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Due to the nature of this position, exceptions to standard scheduling, such as evenings (and occasional weekends), are often required in order to fulfill the requirements of the position. This is a hybrid remote position that allows for some remote work while also requiring weekly travel within Charlottesville, Staunton, Harrisonburg and surrounding counties.

  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications, Education, Experience, Credentials, Licensure:

  • A minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in a human services or related field;
  • A minimum of two years experience providing casework services to children and families;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and well-defined organizational skills;
  • Strong assessment skills;
  • Strong verbal communication and concise writing ability; and
  • Willingness to work some evenings and occasional weekends, as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications, Education, Experience, Credentials, Licensure:

  • Masters in Social Work, Counseling or related field or experience with assessment, training and group facilitation
  • Experience in Treatment Foster Care case management or supervision
