Job Description: This position is responsible for the outside operations of the assigned grain elevator(s). This role includes customer service, employee supervision and training, facility and equipment optimization, inventory management and assisting the Regional Hub Manager in achieving short- and long-term goals for the locations involved.

Essential Job Duties:

·Abide by all cooperative safety and environmental policies, protocol and procedures

·Supervise and train outside crew in the operations of the elevator. Duties include promoting teamwork and a positive image of the cooperative

·Assure the proper grain storage and condition to maintain the highest quality possible. Duties include segregating inventory according to grade and moisture, ensuring proper aeration, checking temperature and sampling quality.

·Assure efficient operation of grain dryer(s). Duties include drying wet grain down to target moisture levels while avoiding shrink and maintaining quality

·Coordinating grain receiving operations for maximum efficiencies, while being responsive to the needs of our farmer/owners. Duties include properly managing traffic flow, space utilization and ground pile management.

·Coordinate grain shipping operations for maximum efficiencies, while maintaining adequate receiving capacity. Duties include loading both trucks and rail cars, recovering grain piles and properly blending product to meet grade.

·Manage facility assets for optimum performance, including preventative management, repair and equipment replacement.

·Promote a clean facility environment and ensure compliance with housekeeping policies, procedures and standards. Duties include monitoring outside contractors to make sure housekeeping rules are followed.

·Provide Regional Hub Manager recommendations for short- and long-term improvements to the facility to include staffing levels and training requirements needed to improve the team.

·Work extended hours as needed

·Be at work on time and ready to work with a neat and clean appearance.

·All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

·High school diploma or GED preferred

· 5 years grain handling experience

·Demonstrated leadership skills, problem solving skills and organizational skills that promote team work and a mentoring relationship with the team.

·Willing to work extended hours, weekends and holidays during peak seasons

·Able to climb on a regular basis, no fear of heights

·High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

·Basic mechanical aptitude

Physical Demands:

·Frequently required to climb, stand, walk and stoop

·Frequently required to work in all weather conditions outdoors

·Frequently required to lift 50 lbs. or more.
