Position Summary: The Director of Sales reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and is responsible for driving revenue for Mercury’s addressable market to meet the Sales goals of the Company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of Sales success in a telecom environment, a natural ability to read, and an extensive understanding of sales forecasting and projecting. The Director of Sales is also responsible for leading and managing all members of the sales department to ensure that revenue and sales goals for the Company are meet and will serve as a member of the Company’s leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in establishing weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets and goals for inside and outside sales teams including daily sales plans, playbooks, and reporting
  • Accurately forecast revenue and prepare reports to the Company’s leadership team
  • Evolve best practices related to customer engagement and communications, sales playbook, and aggressive conversion of leads and prospects to engaged targets and customers
  • Partner with Customer Service to identify, engage, and close upsell opportunities
  • Utilize and track KPIs to hold the sales team accountable for performance; identify areas where the team may be falling behind plan and provide interventions to ensure goals are met
  • Partner with Marketing to execute effective demand-generation and call-to-action campaigns
  • Promote a positive, motivational, and transparent work environment
  • Communicate effectively to ensure objectives, expectations, and timelines are clear to the sales team

Skills and Requirements:

  • 10+ years sales and 5+ years sales management experience
  • Proven track record meeting or exceeding revenue targets in technology-driven environments
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with aggressive sales growth targets
  • Ability to navigate, collaborate, and succeed across multiple functions
  • Proficiency with written and verbal communication
  • Experience with B2C and B2B selling methodologies and skills
  • Data-driven with problem-solving experience
  • Positive competitive disposition

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
  • Master of Business Administration preferred
