*Full Time Mid Shift 11am-11pm; Starting wage is $27.00ResponsibilitiesLicensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Essential Job Functions:
  • Provides patient-focused care of the acutely ill or injured patient.
  • Gathers information and documents data related to the patient’s reason for seeking treatment.
  • Collects specimens such as blood and urine and performs laboratory tests as ordered on the specimens.
  • Provides basic patient care, such as measuring vital signs, dressing wounds, initiating IV’s, administering medications, and/or performing urinary catheterizations.
  • Prepares the patients for examinations, tests, and/or treatments.
  • Assembles and uses equipment such as suction, IV infusion pumps, and nebulizer machines.
  • Monitors patients and reports changes in condition to the supervising Registered Nurse and/or provider on duty. Intervenes, if necessary, under the guidance of the supervising individual(s). Appropriately documents the course of treatment.
  • Assists with the transfer and discharge processes.
  • Cleans and prepares medical treatment rooms.
  • Works collaboratively with other disciplines to provide well-coordinated patient care. Promotes a positive attitude for good interpersonal, interdepartmental, and inter-facility relationships.
  • Maintains awareness of and adheres to current policies and procedure set forth by Premier as well as other regulatory guidelines dictated by entities including but not limited to The Texas Department of State Health Services and COLA’s laboratory accreditation program.
  • Adheres to established laboratory procedures and follows established safety guidelines for working in the laboratory. Processes specimens, reports results, and files paperwork according to written Laboratory procedures.
  • Demonstrates a solution-driven, positive attitude. Participates in the development of nursing policies & procedures by offering recommendations that align with current standards of care and support the focus of Premier to provide family-friendly, compassionate care with little-to-no wait.
  • Attends unit meetings remaining abreast of current departmental, facility, and organizational goals. Assists in dissemination of information as needed to other team members.
  • Cultivates team members by assisting with competency and training as well as promoting ongoing staff education.
  • Participates in the supply chain by inventorying, receiving, and stocking supplies and medications.
  • Diligently executes other duties as assigned.
Required SkillsLicensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Education Qualifications and Credentials:  
  • Must possess and maintain a current Licensed Vocational Nurse License in the State of Texas (or compact license with the State of Texas).
  • Current certification in BLS.
  • Current ACLS & PALS certification or must obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required.    
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in a clinic or urgent care setting is preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to Freestanding Emergency Centers in addition to the practice of nursing. Possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
