The below list of duties and responsibilities are not meant to be all-inclusive, and employees may be asked to perform other job-related tasks by their supervisor or manager.Seeking an Aerospace Strategic Sourcing Engineer who will be responsible for finding suppliers who can provide components and processes to produce complex parts and devices (electromechanical systems) for Aeronautical and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) applications. The person in this position will be a member of the Strategic Procurement Aerospace Team and will participate in cross functional product development and industrialization teams. Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborates on the development of long-term strategic purchasing plans for various commodities
- Collaborates on the development of cost reduction plans
- Collaborates on cost savings programs, inventory reduction and other strategic projects
- Collaborates with planning to obtain the Capacity Analysis of the supply chain
- Collaborates with the Aerospace Engineering Service, Technical Management, and Supplier Quality to find new potential suppliers for NPI and R&D projects
- Searches for new suppliers and informs Supplier Quality on the need to approve new suppliers
- Participates in commodity risk analysis
- Evaluates suppliers’ core competencies and competitive positioning using cost models
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers
- Updates and processes supply contracts and LTAs (Long Term Agreements)
- Requests, processes, and analyzes RFQs and Quotes
- Participates in continuous improvement projects within the department, implements the recommendations and measures their impact through KPIs
- Develops and maintains partnership relationships with suppliers
- Participates in design-to-cost activities and make-or-buy decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred
- Min. 5 years of supply chain experience
- Excellent command of English
- Good understanding of technical design, bill of material (BOM), materials and processes
- Good Project Management skills
- Familiar with the use of Basic Negotiation Techniques
- Solid knowledge of the Supply Chain process and Strategic Procurement
- Personal Skills
- Ability to work toward objectives
- Excellent Team player
- Aptitude for problem solving
- Outstanding communication and relationship skills
- Basic operating skills are required.
- Good working knowledges of MRP systems, Excel, and MS-Office
