About this Opportunity:

Vantedge Medical is seeking a skilled CMM programmer to join our team. The CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programmer is responsible for creating and maintaining programs that instruct CMM equipment to measure the dimensions and geometrical characteristics of manufactured components. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating and programming CMM equipment to inspect and measure various components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. The CMM programmer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products through meticulous measurement and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement CMM programs using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and other specifications to create measurement routines for CMM inspection.
  • Set up and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure accurate measurement results.
  • Perform dimensional inspections on manufactured components to verify conformance to customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Analyze measurement data and generate inspection reports documenting deviations and non-conformities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain CMM equipment and software, including troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Stay current with advancements in CMM technology and inspection methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience as a CMM programmer or operator in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Certification in CMM programming or metrology (e.g., ASQ CMQ/OE, CMSC certification).
  • Proficiency in CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Experience with advanced measurement techniques such as laser scanning or optical metrology.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools for data interpretation (e.g., Minitab).
  • Familiarity with metrology equipment and measurement techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO13485, 21CFR820 or other quality management systems.
