Manage employee performance, resolve concerns, and make hiring, corrective action, and employment decisions.
· Train employees in new responsibilities and assist in production-related duties when needed.
· Interface with other shop supervisors, staff, production management, production supporting design engineers and management, as well as occasional contact with customer representatives.
· Suggest and implement activities to motivate and encourage the highest level of employee performance and morale.
· Analyze work orders, work piece and blueprints to determine process, materials, machines, tooling, and sequence of operation.
· Recommend changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
· Interpret company policies to assigned staff, and ensure adherence to all company, federal and state regulations.
· Study production schedules, establish work schedules and communicate schedules and assignments to employees.
· Ensure OSHA and company safety procedures are communicated and followed.
· Analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in solving work problems.
· Inspect finished product visually and using precision measuring devices such as rules, gauges, square, and micrometers.
· Follow all established quality guidelines.
· Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
· Follow established safety guidelines.
· Perform additional duties as requested.
Requirements:· 5 years’ experience supervising or leading a team in a manufacturing operation.
· Good judgment and ability to work with others at all levels.
· Basic computer skills required.
· Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations.
· Ability to investigate and resolve production or equipment problems.
· Excellent communication, particularly listening skills.
· Complete knowledge of manufacturing process and requirements, with clear understanding and ability to perform each function under supervision.
· Experience with sheet metal fabrication, welding, or industrial electrical wiring processes, depending upon area of responsibility.
· Flexibility with work hours, including Saturdays and Sundays as needed.
