Summary

The Buyer will support the Planning & Analysis team in the purchasing and allocation of cannabis products and accessories from internal cultivation/production facilities and third-party vendors for our 12 dispensaries in MA, MD, NJ, and NY. This role involves assisting with product ordering, vendor interactions, inventory reporting, pricing management, and retail promotional activity

 Key Responsibilities

• Product Ordering: Assist the Senior Buyer with placing orders for cannabis products and accessories, including creating first-pass purchase orders for review by the Senior Buyer.
• Vendor Management: Participate in vendor meetings, handle inquiries, and maintain communication.
• Inventory Management: Report on aging inventory and follow up with dispensaries to ensure adherence to the company’s inventory strategy.
• Pricing Management: Update and manage cannabis product pricing guides and technology platform pricing for each state.
• Promotional management and analysis: Hold the pen on the promotional calendar for each state, while also providing analysis on promotional performance. Oversee promotional activity in technology platforms.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Participate in the company’s key cross-functional planning process “Sales & Operational Planning.” Ability to work with retail, marketing, cultivation/production, compliance, and accounting departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant combination of education and experience.
• Proficient with MS excel + cannabis systems preferred (Leaf Logix, Dutchie, METRC, etc).
• Ability to be cross-functional and innovative - a true team player.
• 2+ years’ experience in a purchasing role for a cannabis retailer.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to building processes.
• Strong verbal & written skills with a focus on finding solutions.
• Analytical skills to drive business decisions.
