GTI specializes in the design, engineering, fabrication, and deployment of custom modular structures, shipping container-based structures, and ballistic metal fabrication. We serve multiple industries, including DOD contractors, military, disaster relief, and commercial markets. Our containerized and modular solutions are all built in-house at our factory in Buffalo, NY. Manufacturing capabilities range from military training, live fire enclosures, bathroom/shower units, expeditionary camps, medical facilities, water treatment, electrical/energy storage enclosures, and much more.
The GTI team consists of more than 50 professionals spanning from fabrication and engineering to government and military specialists. Our combination of expertise allows us to provide top quality solutions and customer service for various industries and missions.
The Welding Inspector is responsible for the QA/QC of the welding team, ensuring that all welds and fabrications are in accordance with Customer specifications as well as safety requirements. This position will operate independently from the rest of the welding team and will work in close cooperation with the Quality Assurance Department.
Job Responsibilities:
Implementation of the QMS for fabrication, inspection, documentation, and operations activities including:
- Be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge of qualifying ASME WPS and welder/welding operator qualifications
- Perform visual inspection and PT required by ASME Code
- Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting unacceptable material.
- Approve in-process production by confirming specification, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to management.
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning reworks and confirming reworks.
- Document inspection results by completing reports.
- Assist in identifying and developing solutions to correct inspection deficiencies.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) processes
- Familiarity with quality systems and procedures
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and radius gauges
- Experience with quality management and inspection techniques
- Understanding of CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards
