Associate Degree

2 - 3 Year's experience in environmental or waste management field.

2 - 3 Year's experience in Water/Wastewater Utility industry.

Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project Management, and Outlook.)

Requires a Valid Driver's License (subject to motor vehicle record review).


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

Provides training for the multiple utility systems personal who are affected or indirectly through monitoring and/or reporting requirements by new or revised federal, state, and tribal environmental regulations.

Implements regulations from Safe Drinking Water Act, Total Coliform Rule, Surface Water Treatment Rule, Lead and Copper Rule to ensure NTUA drinking water system maintain compliance.

Implements regulations from Clean Water Act to ensure NTUA wastewater systems maintain compliance.

Implements regulations from RCRA, TSCA, and NTUA waste management practices maintain compliance.

Reviews and interprets environmental reports prior to submittal to regulatory authorities.

Monitors waste management programs and records to endure all requirements of federal, state, and tribal regulations are adopted and implemented.

Performs field/facility verification/inspections to endure compliance with any federal, state, and tribal regulations that affect the Authority and develops work plans for recommended remedial actions.

Responsible for quality assurance/quality control of environmental compliance activities by adopting and implementing programs to endure the Authority complies with federal, state, and tribal environmental regulatory status.

Prepares technical and economic reports for decision-making purposes regarding the multiple utility systems based on federal, state, and tribal regulatory requirements.

Prepares cost analysis of facilities which affect costs of NTU with respect to required environmental monitoring.

Prepares yearly compliance monitoring schedule for 10 discharging wastewaters systems.

Prepares compliance sampling schedule yearly, for inorganic, organic and radiochemical contaminants for 90 water systems.

Prepares annual Tier II reports, PCB report and Bi-ennial hazardous waste report.

Prepares annual Consumer Confidence Reports for 90 water systems.

Develop NTUA's Well Head Protection Plan and Susceptibility Assessments for newly drilled wells.

Assists wastewater operators with preparing, reviewing, and submitting monthly Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs).

Inspects NTUA's discharging and total retentions lagoons.

Provides technical assistance regarding operations and maintenance of the multiple utility systems relative to environmental issues/monitoring.

Reviews, comments and make recommendations on environmental regulations.

Prepares renewal applications for NTUA NPDES permitted facilities.

Assures that the various permits, permitting review agencies and sign-off requirements are accomplished.

Represents NTUA at meetings with customers, consultants, contractors and other outside agencies at special project sites and update meetings.

Accompanies consultants and regulatory officials during on-site inspections.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
