Position: Driver - Courier
Reports To: Supervisor/Program Manager
Department: DEA Mailroom and Warehouse
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Supervises:
None
General Function
The Driver/Courier operates an automobile or a light truck to transport DEA and/or guest
dignitaries, deliver messages, documents, packages, mail, and boxes that require a "TOP
SECRET" clearance to Government agencies within the Washington Metropolitan Area, may
occasionally transport office personnel and visitors, perform miscellaneous errands, such as
carrying mail to and from the post office or Springfield Warehouse and sort or open incoming
and outgoing mail as required
Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)
- May transport DEA and/or guest dignitaries to various locations
- Deliver items to offices and departments within an organization/establishment.
- Operate a government vehicle.
- Perform the duties of the truck driver position when required to maintain and complete all
SOW requirements.
- Responsible for performing, routine vehicle washing (including interior), daily operator
checks and servicing,
- Reporting vehicle malfunctions to contractor program supervisor and an on-site
government employee immediately.
- Capture a signature for every delivery.
- Follow all SCLogic processes.
- Track all deliveries made.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Driver/Courier is required to use SCLogic for tracking and all deliveries made.
- Be physically able to perform the assigned work which includes lifting boxes weighing
up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
- Employee will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull.
- Drug Screen and Background Check: Pass with the ability to maintain throughout
employment.
- Possess a Top-Secret Security Clearance
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of two years' experience performing courier work, six months of which has been
in the Washington Metropolitan area.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Be able to read, write and speak English fluently, and be fully trained in the requirements of
this contract.
- Possess a valid driver's license issued by the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia and
have a proven safe driving record as established by the National Driver Register or
Equivalent check.
- Requires Top Secret security clearance
Required Contacts
- SysCom, Inc. staff, executives and management.
- Serves as liaison between department and other departments as well as with outside
customers, regulatory personnel, and organizations, etc.
