Job Description:

ANGARAI's Roofing Inspector will be responsible for inspecting, evaluating, and documenting the condition and quality of roofing installations and repairs. The role involves conducting thorough examinations of roofs, identifying defects, verifying compliance with codes and standards, and providing detailed reports to stakeholders.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct Roof Inspections: Perform on-site inspections of roofs at various stages of installation or repair. Evaluate the quality of workmanship and materials used. Identify any deviations from approved plans or industry standards.
  • Compliance Verification: Ensure that roofing projects comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards. Confirm that all necessary permits and approvals have been obtained.
  • Defect Identification: Detect and document any defects, deficiencies, or potential issues with roofing systems. Provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections, including photographs, measurements, and notes. Generate comprehensive reports summarizing findings, observations, and recommendations.
  • Communication and Coordination: Liaise with contractors, builders, and project managers to address issues and provide guidance on compliance. Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure proper resolution of identified problems.
  • Continuous Education: Stay updated on industry best practices, building codes, and roofing technologies. Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Minimum Qualification and skills:

  • High school diploma in civil engineering or equivalent (additional certifications or degrees).
  • Construction License from the State of Maryland.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in roofing, construction, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to roofing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and document defects accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools, equipment, and software.
