Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJOB SUMMARY

Performs diagnostic cardiovascular examinations according to physician orders and department protocols. Generates preliminary reports for physician interpretation, and electronically charts and charges procedures. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care. Engages effectively with patients and their significant others while maintaining professional standards. Follows departmental policies for interacting with Cardiologists and referring physicians regarding critical findings. Works closely with team leaders and managers to discuss significant findings, clinical situations, workflow status, and equipment malfunctions. Often works independently without direct supervision and must demonstrate exceptional work ethics and integrity. Must be registered in either Adult Cardiac or Vascular Sonography by ARDMS or CCI. Must maintain CMEs as required by professional registries and national lab accreditation. Expected to be dependable, responsible, and in compliance with all personnel policies established by our client.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma

Minimum Work Experience

  • 1 year of on-the-job training or graduation from an accredited ultrasound school.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • RDCS or RCS in adult echo, or RVT or RVS in vascular ultrasound (to be completed within 1 year of hire date)
  • CPR certification

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in performing all cardiac or vascular ultrasound procedures available in Non-Invasive Cardiology.
  • Mastery of all equipment, including ultrasound systems, PVR, BP monitors, and computer systems.
  • Attendance at required training programs, staff meetings, and completion of computer-based learning lessons.
  • Availability for on-call status, as scheduled, after normal operating hours, on weekends, and holidays.
