Senior Network Engineer (Onsite-Philadelphia)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Philadelphia. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, and securing our network infrastructure. You will also be providing guidance on troubleshooting and network optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, a proven track record of problem-solving, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain functional and secure network systems.
- Providing expertise on troubleshooting and optimization.
- Oversee and manage network administration, including configuration and maintenance.
- Ensure network security and performance through proactive monitoring and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve network issues.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and improvements.
- Manage client expectations and provide excellent customer service.
- Document network changes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in IT support roles with a focus on network engineering.
- Novell or Microsoft Certification highly desired.
- Expert knowledge of MS Windows Server, SUSE Linux/Novell OES, and/or VMWare ESX.
- Extensive experience with network protocols and directory services such as NDS and/or MS Active Directory.
- Familiarity with Novell or NetIQ products, including Identity Manager, Access Manager, or Zenworks, is highly desired.
- Experience with Fiber Channel zoning and provisioning SAN storage solutions, particularly with Hitachi, is highly desirable.
- Experience with VDI technologies, including VMWare Horizon View and ThinApp, is preferred.
- Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite tools.
- Ability to plan and oversee day-to-day activities independently.
- Solid troubleshooting skills with the capability to assess risks and determine appropriate actions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
