Apparatus Repair & Engineering, Inc. (AR&E) has been involved in the community for over 25 years. We specialize in electric motors, pumps, generators and controls. We are looking for a talented mechanic to join our team. As a mechanic for AR&E you will apply innovative, analytical and problem solving skills, with strong attention to detail and customer focus to repair industrial AC/DC electric motors, generators, gear boxes and related equipment.


Description of the broad function & scope of position:
- Responsible for disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, repairing, testing and reassembling basic electromechanical motors, pumps and equipment
- Must be willing to work in shop and field
- Perform basic test of electromechanical equipment and document accordingly
- Operate megger, surge tester, volt-ohm meter, growler, amp meters, and micrometer as needed
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of products to customers


Qualifications & Competencies:

Able to perform basic math functions, and able to understand, perform and retain various job related training, operations, and safety procedures. Able to work overtime and weekends as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required. Must have a valid driver’s license, DOT physical card or be willing to obtain a DOT physical card. You must own your own basic mechanical tools and have an ability to use a forklift and overhead crane.
