Job Description

  • We are searching for a motivated, skilled entry-level engineer with a focus on structural design that wants to advance their career with a dynamic consulting engineering business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with construction support operations such as responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, visiting construction sites, and managing design modifications and adjustments.
  • Assist in creating structural design plans and details.
  • Create drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Conduct field inspections and compile written reports.
  • Calculate the structures and components of various building materials.
  • Use several structural engineering software tools for analysis.
  • Review the structural requirements.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities given by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Plans to become a certified Professional Engineer.
  • Entry-level to four years' experience in structural engineering design.
  • EIT certification or the capacity to earn the certificate within 6 months.
  • Knowledge and practical application of numerous regulatory codes and design documents (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, etc.).
  • Have an excellent work ethic.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural specialization (ABET accredited) or completion within six months.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to operate in a collaborative setting as well as alone with little supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities. Capable of effectively communicating in both technical and non-technical languages, as well as reading comprehension.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong computer abilities, including basic understanding of drawing tools, BIM modeling, and structural design software (AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, EnerCalc, etc.).
  • Familiar with construction and safety practices, and eager to work on-site.

  • Teachable and willing to grow professionally.
